News - '2009 MotoGP French round : the report
05/21/2009

In May 2008, I left Le Mans being nearly certain to get a pass for this year. Week after week, my program got substantial and I decided to shorten my winter tests to start the MotoGP cycle earlier. At the end of December, when the withdrawal of Kawasaki from MotoGP has been evoked, I said to myself that it would be more complicated than first expected but I went on working as if nothing had happened. Or almost... After two unfruitful requests, I prefered to switch on World Superbikes artworks in case that I would be deprived of MotoGP meeting this year. Salvation came from the Hayate Racing Team at the end of March. Eventuelly, the lost time turned into advance and my production was exceptional.

Pressure was getting stronger as the day was coming closer : how to make about sixty watercolours, these of this year and those unsigned of the past years, signed in only one day ? All the more so as they don't ride on the Friday morning, the riders arrive later at the circuit on the Thursday.
I entered the circuit at about 10:00 a.m, so I quickly stared to collect my first signatures. Lunch time allowed me to meet about ten riders when to came to eat in the hospitalities area. Alex Criville and Emilio Alzamora, respectively 500 cc and 125 cc World Champions in 1999, were also present in the paddock. I met the other MotoGP riders at the end of the afternoon. After four years of drought, I even had the good the good luck to meet Valentino Rossi twice. An incredible hunt and a wonderful day.

So I will be able to update the MotoGP riders'profiles in the coming weeks, beginning with the class rookies (4 profiles, among which the coming back Sete Gibernau). Note that there will be exceptional updates about Loris Capirossi (5 new artworks) and Colin Edwards (6 new).

To conclude, I would like to thank the Hayate Racing Team crew for its warm welcome. Without this team, as nice as motivated, this site's life would have been less interesting. It's my turn to wish them to maintain the current results to follow the adventure.
