Last year, I left myself a litlle bit unsatisfied when I just wrote a short article about The Doors. Too few regarding to its importance. This winter, I eventually turned into reality a project that I 'd had on my mind for a long time : to turn into pictures one of their songs.

For the conception of these three strips, I dived one more time with pleasure into the band's discography. Among the numerous possibilities offered, the choice of the song was quite quickly mase. I chose an extract of the posthumous album gathering texts said by Jim Morrison, accompanied by the musicians.

Based on the excellent "Riders on the storm", "The hitchhiker" tells us the story of a murderer traveling on a highway in a Californian desert ("there's a killer on the road").
For the scenario, the story was rather clear. About the technique, for more convenience, I chose to make each drawing separately and to make a montage with my computer. However the video format added one constraint to the exercise : no possibility to play upon the vignettes' size and orientation.

Ladies and gentlemen, from Los Angeles, California... The Doors !
