The US championship is commensurate with the country size : giant. All the 1980's Grand Prix legends earned their spurs in this series. The years 2000 have been dominated by the GSX-R Suzuki, with Mat Mladin (7 titles) and Ben Spies (3 titles). Only Nicky Hayden managed to break this hegemony and offer Honda a crown in 2002.
