Aleix Espargaro started racing in Catalunya, competing in enduro, motocross and supermotard championships. 2004 125 cc Spanish champion, Aleix Espargaro naturally made his world championship debut the next season. Teamed-up with Alvaro Bautista in football player Clarence Seedorf's team, he made a decent maiden season.

MotoGP - Hector Barbera

Hector Barbera started racing through the many Spanish detection series (Airtel, Caja Madrid) then in 125 cc championship, that he finished in 12th position in 2001. He made his world championship debut in 2002 in Aspar Martinez's team. From 2003, he earnt his two maiden wins.

MotoGP - Alvaro Bautista

After debuts in minibikes and Aprilia Cup, Alvaro Bautista, from 1999, has been part of the detection program initiated in Spain by Alberto Puig with the support of MoviStar. As Dani Pedrosa and Toni Elias was making their debuts in the world championship, Alvaro Bautista was earning his spurs in the top level Spanish championship. Crowned in 2003 in the 125 cc class, he logically contended the world series since 2004.

MotoGP - Marco Simoncelli

Marco Simoncelli started racing with mini-bikes then took part in the Italian and European 125 cc championships. 2002 European champion, he made his world series debut at the end of the season, watched by his friend Valentino Rossi. Between 2003 and 2005, he contended the 125 cc world championship on a Aprilia bike, claiming two wins and finishing in 5th position in 2005.

Ben Spies made his professional road racing debut in the USA in 2000 with Suzuki. For his rookie season, he earned the AMA Horizon Award. He claimed his first domestic title in 2003 in the Formula Extreme class. He joined the official Suzuki team in 2005, alongside Mat Mladin, and finished the Superbike championship as runner-up. We lived a volcanic season start ! First Valentino Rossi set fire to the race in Qatar after Casey Stoner crashed as he was leading the race. At Jerez, Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa struggled for a home race victory until the last turn. The "Fanstastic Four" are fit for fight this year again. Maybe with a light advantage for the Yamaha factory riders.

He started his professional career as test rider with the 500 RGV Grand Prix machine in 1993. 1995 through 2002, he competed in the 250 cc (3rd in 1997) and Superbike (4th in 2001) All-Japan championships . After his domestic Supersport title, Andrew Pitt was recruited by Kawasaki to contend the world championship in 2000. The season after, he was crowned without any race win. In 2002, he eventually earned his first victory and finished the championship in 5th position. He also scored the first points for Kawasaki in the new MotoGP series. Permanent rider in 2003, Andrew Pitt lived a difficult campaign, with bike and tyres problems. [Read more] |
