Aleix Espargaro started racing in Catalunya, competing in enduro, motocross and supermotard championships. 2004 125 cc Spanish champion, Aleix Espargaro naturally made his world championship debut the next season. Teamed-up with Alvaro Bautista in football player Clarence Seedorf's team, he made a decent maiden season. Recruited by the BQR team, he began the 2006 campaign in the 125 cc class but competed in the upper class from the Dutch TT. Then he contended this championship for the Blusens and Lotus. Left without any ride at the end of 2008, he developed the new Moto2 bikes in the Spanish championship then replaced Mika Kallio and Niccolo Canepa in the Pramac MotoGP team. Thanks to his good performances, he secured a permanent ride for 2010.
