Dani Pedrosa made his racing debuts on pocket bikes, which he became domestic champion in 1998. His participation in the Movistar Cup the following season was deciding for his career. Alberto Puig, creator of this detection series, offered him a ride in the 125 cc Spanish championship (4 poles and a 4th final place) in 2000 then in Grand Prix. Dani Pedrosa claimed his first win in Assen in 2002 and finished the championship in 3rd position. In 2003, he clinched the title (60 points clear of Alex de Angelis) even if he missed the last two rounds (two ankles broken in a crash at Philip Island). After a difficult winter, he won the 250 cc class opening race and, eventually, was crowned for his first season. Announced in MotoGP, he remained in the 250 cc class and kept his title ahead of Casey Stoner. As a logical continuation, he joined the official Honda squad in 2006 and earned the rookie prize (5th overall with two victories). Since then, Dani Pedrosa has been often disadvantaged by injuries and lacked regularity. As he's part of the "Fanstastic Four", competition with his compatriot Jorge Lorenzo has exacerbeted his determination.
