Supported by his family, Casey Stoner claimed his first domestic title at the age of six. Noticed by Alberto Puig, he contended the English and Spanish championships both, in 2001, and finished twice second. He also scored his first points in world championship (12th at Philip Island). Casey Stoner competed in the 250 cc world championship in 2002 and moved to the 125 cc class in 2003 (he earned his maiden GP win for the last round in Valencia) with Lucio Cecchinello's team. Recruited by the KTM factory in 2004, he offered its first road racing success to the Austrian manufacturer. Back with Lucio Cechinello on a 250 cc Aprilia, he battled out for the world title with Dani Pedrosa in 2005 but finished the championship in second position. His Italian mentor found the money to make Casey Stoner race in the MotoGP class aboard a Honda the following season. He had a thundering season start (pole in Qatar) but lacked regularity and claimed an 8th final position. In 2007, Casey Stoner joined Ducati and lived an exceptional season : crowned three races before the end of the season and ten wins. Riding a less competitive package in 2008, the young Australian champion was forced after tough head-on-head struggles, to let his crown to Valentino Rossi. Phisically diminished in 2009, he's missed three rounds and came back for victory. As he hasn't win yet in 2010, Casey Stoner's already announced his arrival in the Honda official team from the upcoming season, alongside Dani Pedrosa.
