James Toseland made his road racing debut in 1992 ; his Honda CB 500 Cup win and his British Supersport 3rd final position were a springboard for his international career. Af er two seasons in World Supersports, he came back to the UK in 2000 to contend the British Superbike championship then the World Superbike series, alongside Neil Hodgson in the GSE Ducati team. James Toseland quickly improved : he earned his first podimum in Assen in 2002 and his first win in 2003 at Oschersleben. Recruited by the Ducati factory squad, he claimed the title ahead of his team-mate Régis Laconi. Lacking competitiveness in 2005, he lost his title and came back in Honda camp with the Ten Kate team in 2006. Runner-up in 2006, he clinched his second world title the following season, only two points ahead of Noriyuki Haga. He competes in MotoGP in the Tech 3 French team since 2008 with several 6th places as best results.
